Back
It's been a while since I've posted, really wanted to keep up on this, but life happens. I ordered a tape recorder (minus the tape) that plugs into usb. Gonna try and get a lot of interviews done this summer, starting with the Merauder show. Plan on putting together a zine with illustrations by Jake Lehmann and hopefully get some other collaboation.
-Lots of good shows for me this summer, including flying to Seattle for Rainfest with Sean.
-Territory is finally going to play shows
-I now play in Condemned and thats going pretty great, none of the songs up are ones I've recorded but hopefully next month that will change.
some upcoming shows after the jump. (gnarwhal inc and shows I think you should know about, missing some, when I have time I'll make a more complete list)

SHOWS
Shows have been pretty much non existent in Tucson lately, it bums me out, I love seeing and playing shows, especially in Tucson. Some new bands have sprung up, some great bands are returning, and a few are making their Tucson debut. Please check all these bands and their shows out. Territory is my new band and will be playing on the 22nd with Ruiner, I'm very excited to be doing vocals for another band.
If you care at all about Tucson continuing to have hardcore shows please re-post these flyers and make it out to these shows.

Beware of the light, it may take you away, to where no evil dwells. It will take you away, for all eternity.
Listening to some Burzum, while Kittelsen gives me a painted tour of Norway. Heard some of the newer Burzum stuff, its not that great.

BOOKING SHOWS
A lengthy read, but a good one. One of the dudes from Phoenix Bodies wrote it up, pretty much nails it.
The Finer Points of Show Booking.
So, you want to set up a show for your favorite band in the whole world. You e-mail them every other day, and you send them nice little letters in the mail. They've never came to your town before, but they have decided to come through this time on tour because of your wholesome interest. They e-mail you and want you to help them out with a show, and you of course say "I can help you! It will be no problem!" But there is a little problem, you've never done a show for ANY band before. You have no idea what to do or where to go to set up this momentous event. Not to worry! The wonderful thing about punk rock is that ANYONE has the power to participate. This part is also one of the worst parts about punk rock, because often times people will get involved lacking know how.
Sooooooooooo, since I have decided that I know everything, I'm going to tell you what to do in the most condecending manner possible. I have not booked a TON of shows, maybe no more than 30 or 40, but I have probably played a few hundred, and been to some impossible amount. Here are some things I have noticed that bands like when you book a show.
-A nice comfortable location for the event.
-People coming to see them.
-The promoter being genuinely interested/familiar with their band.
-Getting paid a reasonable amount.
-Having a place to sleep at night.
-Being able to eat food.
-Having a lot of FUN!
If every show I've been too, or played had all of these things, I would consider myself to be in some amazing fantasy world. Look at that list. It is seven simple things. You would think that it would be very easy to accomodate these things if one took the time and energy, however it's now very rare that these amazing celestial spheres of show booking ever come into allignment. Let me now explain how you can make these things happen.

RIDE THE BEST - FUCK THE REST!
SSS (Short Sharp Shock) from Liverpool, England released The Dividing Line in 2008. It's a pure fucking skate thrash hardcore rager. Speed metal riffs, pissed hardcore vocals, and songs about skating and moshing. They have a song about Independent Trucks(the best truck company ever), seriously don't be a mongo pushing square, get this.
FFO: Suicidal Tendencies, Leeway, Excel, Slapshot, S.O.D., Infest, Metallica
SSS Cryspace
Wont be posting a dl link, as this record is still readily available from Earache Records
(But obviously google: the name, album, and mediafire and you will be circle pitting in no time.)

Embodyment - 1993-1996
Some of the same songs off Embrace The Eternal and some other songs, the sound is more American Death Metal than Embrace, faster and more evil sounding. Definitely glad I looked these up its been a while since I've listened to Embodyment.

Embodyment - Embrace The Eternal
Embodyment was fucking awesome on this record, then they turned fucking lame, doing a Christian super melodic version of the Deftones. Embrace The Eternal is a fucking rad record, especially for a bunch of CHRISTIANS. Heartwork era Carcass worship played a little faster with metalcore feel.
