Sink Or Swim, Live Or Die.

So goddamn good, wish I'd gotten to see them with an OG lineup, not American scab lineup. I remember reading a few months ago that they are gonna record another record, not tour or anything but at least some new songs.

Colder Than You

As the sun goes down and we wake up
The streets start to fill with disrupt
The sounds of guns, police sirens
The mothers of our world are praying
The kid next door, he was shot in cold blood
AK-47 face in the mud
The wars on tv, blood on the screen
I wish I could say it was all bad dreams

Where are we going, can you tell me where
It looks like a straight line to Hell from here

If god came down on christmas day

new Backstabbers Inc song/video

Backstabbers Inc is easily one of my favorite bands ever, this is their first new material in over 5 years. Replacing Ryan on vocals is nearly impossible, the Serven brothers step up and do a decent job on the new song. Stoked to hear other new songs, so glad this band didn't quit after Ryan left.

Negative Approach on WMFU

One of my favorite live sets, and surprisingly it's from a 2008 recording. Brannon's voice sounds as good as ever, a little more gruff but still so good. If you've never checked out his bands after NA do yourself a favor and do so, Laughing Hyenas and Easy Action both fucking rule.

Mediafire

Set List:
Lost Cause
Can't Tell No One
Sick of Talk
Hypocrite
Dead Stop
Whatever I Do
Tied Down
Evacuate
Your Mistake
Why Be Something That You're Not
Pressure
Fair Warning
Nothing
Borstal Breakout (Sham 69)
Never Surrender (Blitz)
Solitary Confinement.

I'll Shake Your Hand With My Fist

Here's a compilation of rarities from the band with NO bad songs. Material from 1991-2003, live songs, some alternate versions, and a couple GREAT covers (Circle Jerks and Angry Samoans). The 7" recording of House Of Hell sounds way meaner than the full length version.

da big game

U of A vs. #11 Oregon
For the past few years the Oregon game has been one of the most entertaining games on the schedule and one with great implications. Tonight the implications have never been greater for either team. If the U of A can win this game and win the final two games, they will appear in their first Rose Bowl and for the first time be crowned Pac-10 Champion. They control their own destiny and I believe they actually have a shot. Stoked for the game, really hope the U of A can pull it out. Regardless of how much I actually hate the U of A as an institution, I love football and love going to the games.

Weekend Nachos + Life In Chains on December 7th, 2009

Chicago's, Weekend Nachos released Unforgivable a few months ago, the record fucking slays. Combining Infest, Napalm Death, Ringworm, and Youth Of Today, to make brutally violent punk mayhem. Band rules, dudes rule, don't sleep on this show you fucking turds.

Agnostic Front on my birthday

Just been announced this week that Agnostic Front will be playing some AZ dates at some small bars with Death By Stereo. Coinciding with the re-release of Victim In Pain, pretty much guarantees even more than normal amount of AF classics.

Fuck the kids

Shows have hit a new low this year in Tucson. Poor attendance, double the amount of fucking turds who can't muster $5 to see a band they claim to like, and a complete lack of interest by new kids.

Hate to be that guy, but I will be. The internet is much to blame for a considerable portion of shitty shows and a saturated low quality music scene . It's far to easy to become an expert to hear and know everything without actually putting real time and effort into punk and hardcore. Tthe new generation and my generation as a whole are so obsessed with instant gratification that the internet is life, real experience and work just take too long. Now it is nearly impossible to not use the internet and play and promote shows. Damned if you do and damned if you don't...

Kids ordering cool limited merch from a site online and not showing up when that particular band plays their town, just one of many examples of how aesthetically hardcore is cool but not important enough to put any real energy into it.

Tucson already starts deep in a hole, because there isn't a very good foundation for hardcore to begin with and most people try and move out of here as soon as they can, leaving 21-23 year olds to be considered old.

My rant could be left open and fill volumes and I am by no means an eloquent or even decent writer, but basically its frustrating and sad to see something i truly love just get worse and worse, no matter how hard a select few try it just isn't enough. I'd even be stoked if things were at least like they were last year...

Download ROT and our S/T 7"

Life In Chains, Rituals, Sleepless 11/19/09

Photobucket

Jesse Vasquez is back in town for a bit and it was a perfect opportunity for some new bands to debut and for old ones to play some new jams. Anymore I get way more excited to play all local shows.

Rituals is ex Some Nerve, Fake Out and others, basically picking up where Some Nerve left off a few years ago.

Sleepless, has a new drummer playing his first real show with the band.

Life In Chains, has new jams and some covers.

This will be the first show worth going to at the new Skrappys as well, 8pm, only $5
